Paul Bamberger, Esq., has been involved with TPP for four years. He has participated in many TPP restorative justice circles and experienced healing of past trauma first-hand through circle work.  Paul helped facilitate RJ circles with TPP in a Boston high school in the Spring of 2024.  He has also assisted with TPP’s policy initiatives.  Paul drafted legislation to end lifetime parole for "juvenile lifers" which, in true TPP fashion, we renamed “Transformational Youth” because names matter.  He helped get the legislation introduced into the Massachusetts House and Senate.  

Paul attended Yale and New York University undergrad.  He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1987. Paul practiced union-side labor law in Washington DC for two years and was Senior Counsel for a public employee union in New York State for 27 years, living in Albany, New York. Paul is from Jewish heritage.  His family emigrated to the US from Germany and Eastern Europe before he was born in Chicago. Paul’s father, grandfather, grandmother and aunt escaped from Nazi Germany when Paul’s father was 11 years old in 1938, making it to the West Coast of the US in 1940.  Many of Paul’s family were murdered by the Nazis in death camps in Germany and Poland in the Holocaust.  Paul is moving forward on his healing journey from that generational trauma.  

Paul retired from the practice of law in 2016 and now volunteers in decarceration and restorative justice healing spaces.  In his free time, Paul enjoys traveling, reading non-fiction, going to movies and listening to folk music and hip-hop (especially Stonecatcher!).  He is the proud father of two children, ages 34 and 37.  Paul lives in Somerville, MA and shuttles between his apartment in Somerville and his long-term partner Amy’s home in Georgetown, MA.
